I had read that new cars were all equipped for digital. Has anybody got pics/instructions of the gold edition DB5 conversion?

Been a while since I have posted here. I had 2 digital lane changing tracks. One stoped working, a while ago. Now tonight, the other one stopped as well. They will flip about once and after that they don't work any more.

I have opened them both up and checked on the little bar that moves them. That is still engaged. I have seen on this forum that changing out a fuse is the way to go. I have those fuses, and man are they small. So, if its not working, and the bar is in place, would you suspect that the Fuse would be the next logical thing? I just want some best guesses before I go at with some amature soldering.

The other thing, neither of these pieces are new, but they are good shape, and both probably have less than 80 hours run time on them. Probably closer to forty. Just seems like its kinda odd they popped already.

Is it possible to upgrade a standard hot laps track with puma rally1 wrc to a fully digital arc pro . I am hoping that with a digital chip in the car, an arc pro powerbase and a few track extenders/lane changers that it would be possible. Haven't had scalextric for 45 odd years and would seek to start off low key and then explore the upgrade possibilities. Thanks

When I place one of my cars on the track the lights switch on and the car eases slowly forwards. When the trigger is pressed the car operates normally, when the trigger is released the car does not stop but coasts to an almost stop and continues to move forwards.

Not being certain if the car or controller was the cause I programmed a different car into the controller and it reacted in the same manner as the first car.

To double check, I programmed the original car into a different controller and it worked normally. From this I deduced that the problem must be the controller.

The controller is displaying a solid red light, therefore it's unlikely to be a battery issue.

	Can anyone suggest a solution?

	Cheers

I have a simple setup with 1 straight lane changer. It has a bunch of straight track before the cars get to the trigger point.

Tonight, I ran about 20 laps with a new car. Changed lanes back and forth, no problem. Then it started changing lanes on its own. Each lap it would move the car to the other lane. No buttons pushed. Lap after lap, inside then outside... But it never tripped the bit lane, which would work with a button push.

I put a chair over the sensor area, in case the lights were tripping the sensor. Same issues. I changed controllers. Same issue. I powered off/on the system. It ran correctly for a while then started doing it again. I switched to a new car, and that car displayed so the same problem.

It's never done this before. Any ideas?

	Hi All

Newbie here so please be gentle. Im looking for some advice. Im not sure yet whether Im selling this or keeping it.

It was bought in 2015 and we have kept the box etc so in pretty good condition apart from 2x problems. 🙂

Saying that ; the problems are well pretty major.

I’ve attached some pictures and a link here to set we have. Google Drive link is here

Problem 1- My son lost one of the cars (he lost it years ago) and I was wondering about the best advice on getting a replacement for this digital set? It doesn’t need to be new.

Problem 2- The car that we have doesn’t have the metal “Brillo pad” parts that touch the track? Where can I buy a replacement part for this? See the attached purple Bugatti

	Appreciate any advice or information.

	Thanks

	Hi,

This is my first post so apologies if this has been asked before I just couldn’t find anything relative when searching.

I purchased a 6 car power base v 1.2 AZ1 (on reverse of track) however there is no power to the track.

The lcd screen works fine when plugged into power 1 port and go through instructions to setup car id but still no power to the track so car doesn’t run.

when power plugged into power port 2 the screen is just blue and blank.

I’m using all newer track, no older style track and also using a digital car.

Any help would be appreciated as new to the Scalextric game.

	Thanks in advance

I have Arc pro and I have recently acquired a Scalextric Pacer unit. I would like to switch between using the pacer unit or the Arc Pro unit. If I leave the Arc Pro attached to the track but do not switch it on - so its got no power - then power the track using the Scalextric Pacer power base will the Arc Pro that is not powered suffer any damage or will it just act as a normal piece of track?

	Thanks

Hi - my Arc Pro works fine in digital mode with all my digital cars and USED to work fine with my non-digital cars. But now when I flick the switch to analogue (ie towards the track) my analogue cars won’t work at all. Can anyone help, please? David in Poole, Dorset

Some clues:

	1. I have just put conductive aluminium tape over all my track, including 6 x power taps in various places all round my circuit (4x16) and all digital cars work fine with it, with no power surges now.

2. The same non-digital cars cars used to work fine but now they don’t.

	3. The light is RED on top of my Arc Pro powerbase in analogue mode.

	4. For a split second, one of the analogue cars goes ‘txt’ when I press the controller (red or green one) and then… nothing whatsoever. The Arc powerbase remains lit up showing both red/green controllers are connected.

	…any idea please????

I have quite some stuff of analog SCX from 10-15 years ago (Around 20-25 cars and 11m of tracks more or less) The tracks are the old ones, the black coloured with the double loop conections, not the grey ones that came out after.

I want to make the switch into the digital system, because i want to run more than 2 cars at the same time on the same track, and having them running by the control. Scalextric Digital can run a maximun of 6 cars, but having in mind that i want to run the maximum allowed by the system (This will mean that in most cases i would have to put 5 ghost/pace cars on track) Which option is better? The ARC Pro powerbase (C8435) or the Advanced 6 cars Powerbase (C7042) ?

2. I have to compliment Scaley for their great customer service. I've been dealing with Tony, one of their reps for a couple of minor issues that came up.

When I receive good customer service I like to pay it forward . . . I was in sales for 40 years and I've watched good customer service sadly evolve into a thing of the past.

Tony has been very responsive to my emails and his call backs have been old school customer service level. How good is it when you hear any c/s rep say to you "I just want to do whatever it takes to make you happy"!

	Thanks Tony

I've had an Arc Pro set for around 4 months now. Combined it with an old sport set to make a decent track. Couple of things I was hoping to get some clarity on:

1. The track seems slippery. I have sanded the tires down so that there is a lot more tire contact to the track. It made a difference, but its still hard to control. Does this get better with time as the cars get broken in and rubber builds up on the track?

2. Digital cars are hard to drive. Analogue cars are really nice. Good throttle control. Digital cars on the other hand, I'd say I can't use more than 15-20% of the trigger travel, and on some its less than that. The range is so narrow it makes it hard to slow down for a corner (without stopping) and then trying to accelerate again, if you go to far its screaming. Its like a hair trigger. Now, I don't tend to use the APP or the Magic App because I haven't found a great way to set everything up. I just want to go upstairs, turn the the thing on and run some laps. But is the only way I'm going to get better trigger control is to always run the app when the digital cars on on the track?

3. I get power surges. From what I read, this is where the braids lose contact and the chip reverts momentairly to analogue, which means full blast. The worst area is right around the XLC after crossing the following lane change triangle bit. Is my only option to move the XLC to someplace with a larger straight after? Oddly enough, I do not have this problem on the pit lane pieces, nor after crossing over the inside to outside crossovers I have in the corners. Its mostly just the XLC piece.

I was stoked to get the digital set. But now I'm thinking I made a mistake. Changing lanes is cool, but driving is so much more difficult, even with practice, that I don't know how I can just casually fire it up and do laps with anyone else.

The track seems to warp instantly and the short single lane pieces do not equal the length of the pit lane entry/ exit causing more warping/ gaps.

I’ve looked online for solutions to the bad connections, but nothing seems to provide more than a temporary fix. Is this even possible that they manufactured the left side of this new pit track section too short.
Has anyone ever experienced this?

If I tighten the left side then the gap opens up on the right side.
It could also be the short pieces that fill in the lane along the side of the pit track one might have been cut to long?

I'll have to take some finer measurments of each of the track sections in question.

This side of the set up is all a straight run after the curve.

Received my replacement Scalextric Pro Platinum today. Due to my setup the Pro Arc power unit hangs slightly over the edge of my Plywood sheet.
Which causes the male end of the power cord to hang straight out even farther.

I’d like to order from Amazon a right angle adapter so the power plug hangs down instead of straight out where people walking by keep hitting it and it will eventually snap off.

Anyone know the specs for this adapter or a link to one?
Thanks

I emailed Scalextric who actually manufactures this $700 Pro Platinum set with their Pro Arc unit, yet they gave me back a "useless response"!

Anyone know a link to Amazon for one of these simple adapters in the correct size for the male end of the power cord?

In the old days, I could have just walked into a Radio Shack with the transformer in hand and matched it up to one off their wall!
